Having a beautiful, lush lawn shouldn’t be the product of irresponsibly using lots of chemicals.
At Reder Landscaping we are committed to the environment. That’s why our lawn fertilization and pest control services, as well as our lawn maintenance programs, adhere to the principles of Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
IPM is an approach to lawn care that involves the use of ecologically-based, common sense methods to maintain a healthy lawn with minimal use of chemical controls. These methods, used properly and intelligently, include:
- Grass selection
- Soil preparation and management
- Mowing practices
- Watering
- Pest control
Just as a healthy person is better able to fight off sickness, healthy lawns are less apt to be overcome by weeds, insects or disease. Rather than relying only on chemicals to control these problems, the goal of using IPM practices is to produce a thriving lawn that is healthy enough to tolerate some pest activity without them reaching damaging levels. Chemical controls are used under IPM practices only when absolutely necessary and only in the amount necessary to address the specific issue.
