The ninth annual Reece Endeavor GardenWalk is scheduled to take place this Wednesday, July 18 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
The GardenWalk is a very well-run event that provides attendees with the opportunity to tour six beautiful residential gardens here in Midland as well as attend a lunchtime concert inside Dow Gardens.
All proceeds from the event will go to the Reece Endeavor, a local nonprofit that has provided housing for individuals with special needs in Midland County for more than 50 years.
Advance tickets for the GardenWalk are $10 and available in Midland at Awesome Blossoms, Dow Gardens, Coffee Chaos, Glover’s Rexall Pharmacy, Heather and Holly, Village Green, Smith’s Flowers, Treasures on Townsend, Kutchey’s Flowers and the Reece Endeavor office at 2723 Jefferson; in Freeland at U Spa Salon and More; in Bay City at Violets Blue; and in Saginaw at Newport Ltd.
Tickets cost $15 the day of the walk, and are available at any of the featured gardens. A map to each garden is included on the ticket.
One of six gardens featured on the GardenWalk is the Tangney Residence; a project where Reder Landscaping was fortunate to be given the opportunity to transform a wooded backyard into a magnificent outdoor living space. This garden features a raised brick paver patio with outdoor kitchen and elevated circular planters overlooking a water feature. From here broad steps flow down to a lower brick paver patio with flagstone inlay that includes a semi-circular brick paver seating wall around a fire pit.
