MIDLAND’S HEAD HORTICULTURIST MAKES BIG MOVE TO REDER LANDSCAPING
After 18 years employed by the City of Midland, Stephanie Richardson looks forward to growing her career with a trusted local landscape design and construction firm.
For Stephanie Richardson, passion drives everything. Her 18 year career as the City of Midland’s full-time Horticulturist is a shining example of her commitment to the beautification of the city she calls home. Much like the perennials she’s planted throughout the City of Midland…Stephanie has grown. Her goals and aspirations have changed with the seasons. This fall, she’s bringing her passion for beautiful landscapes to the Design and Sales team at Reder Landscaping.
“I’m grateful for the time I spent working alongside the talented staff at the City of Midland,” said Richardson. “I’m eager to grow my career with Reder Landscaping, while continuing to serve Midland and surrounding communities.”
Richardson earned a horticulture degree from Michigan State University, and quickly planted roots in Midland. She’s spent years honing her skills as a landscape designer, while planting and perfecting common spaces throughout the city. Her horticulture and design influence is felt throughout Midland. Her team has designed and maintained everything from the seasonal floral displays Downtown, to Midland’s well-manicured traffic islands, and the beautiful entrance ways at M-20 and Currie Parkway.
In addition to her work as a full-time Horticulturist, Richardson served her community as the Lead Supervisor for Midland’s Parks and Recreation Department, and oversaw the Forestry Division, responsible for planting and maintaining the health of Midland’s expansive urban forest.
During her tenure with the City of Midland, she came to understand that her greatest natural talents relate to the artistry of creating beautiful, functional outdoor spaces. This passion for design and landscape beautification ultimately attracted Richardson to Reder Landscaping, a trusted landscape design and construction firm that’s been serving Mid-Michigan for nearly 60 years.
“I admire Reder Landscaping not only for their quality of work, but for their positive company culture and core values,” said Richardson. “I’m so excited to help carry on this tradition of excellence, while we continue to build on Reder’s exceptional reputation.”
The addition of Stephanie Richardson to the Reder Landscaping team is timely, as the company positions for another season of service expansion and growth. As a Landscape Designer and Sales Representative, Richardson will play a key role in facilitating that growth, by helping to meet the demand with innovative designs and original ideas.
“At Reder Landscaping, we’re always looking for new ways to raise the bar, and better serve our growing client base and community,” said Steve Baillie, Sales Department Manager. “We’ve been working hard to build the right team that will carry Reder Landscaping into the next chapter, and Stephanie is the perfect addition to help bring our vision to life,” he added.
Richardson will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Reder Landscaping. Her decades of industry experience, extensive landscape design background, and passion for horticulture make her uniquely qualified to serve Reder’s loyal customers. In addition to landscape design and sales, Richardson will serve in an account management capacity.
